What's Wrong with Mud virtual tour

I am so excited about Nikki Shoemaker's new book "Whats wrong with Mud". Nikki also works in cut paper. Her artwork is adorable and she is such an inspiration especially to a paper loving girl like me. So we should celebrate Nikki's art, her book and of course MUD!
To celebrate Nikki's book I am going to do a ATC giveaway drawing. To enter leave a comment on this post telling a funny story involving mud (if you have kids or pets i'm sure you have some). I will randomly pick a name on the 15th, contact the winner and then get started on a custom cut paper atc. Also check out Nikki's giveaway below.

What fun pieces! And of course Nikki's illustrations are awesome! I have two little boys that love to play in the mud. Just this past weekend I had watered the garden so I could weed. My littlest decided to help by filling his bucket up with mud.... yummmmm.... than he dumped it over his own head... at first he thought it was so funny... than started to cry and wanted washed... very cute... and of course camera was in my house! I miss all the cute pictures!

Oh, cool to see another cut paper illustrator! I've posted a few of my "mud stories" on my blog lately in honor of Nikki's book. The biggest for me was falling into a pit on the very first day of high school. My entire leg was covered in thick mud when I pulled it out. NOT a fun way to start off high school, that was for sure.

Back in the 90s, I used to sell Herbalife and we had a facial product that was sort of like a mud mask. One of our friends, also a distributor, decided to try it when we were in Georgia at a convention. He answered his hotel room door covered in this green muddy mask. Turns out, he had an allergic reaction to it and broke out in a rash. It was one of those laugh your head off moments, though he wasn't too amused.

Oh how cute is this. I love paper just like you!!! OMG how much paper do I have. It's just crazy and I can't wait to see this beautiful book. It's sounds and looks amazing. I will I had a story about mud, but I don't but I did here this one thing. I 'm reading this wonderful book called" The Maker's Diet" It's about eating for life. One of the passages in the book is on how to get healthy germs or bacteria in ones system and the writer says that there is wonderful bacteria found in healthy soil and that we need some of this great stuff to fight off certain diseases and sickness. He says that some of our children sick simply because we won't let them play in the mud. Hee hee hee! First rainy day we have here again, the kid and I are going to make some mud pies hee hee hee! We will let you know how it's working.

OMG, I have such a good, fun memory of mud. We had just moved into our house...it was one of the first built on our street. There was an empty lot next door to us, that had just been cleared to start the building of a new house. My nephew was visiting, and he and my son decided that they'd play in the empty lot. Not a problem, but it was after a heavy, heavy rain...and the lot was all MUD!! They were covered, head to toe, in mud.

At first, I was almost mad...but then, I thought, "what the heck" and let them just play. They had a ball, and we just sprayed them off with the garden hose and made them take their clothes off in the garage before coming in the house. It was good clean...errrr, dirty fun!

Oh, this is such a lovely, fun idea! :-)

And here's my mud story: I always say that my dog should have come with mud flaps! She's about 12 but loves to go for long walks, and to "investigate" every little corner of the parks we take her to. Even on sunny days, if the earth is a bit moist, her legs and tummy will get covered in mud. No problem, it's easy to fix, and it makes her so happy!
